Hansy
Age: 11
For fun, Hansy, likes to paint.
When she grows up, she wants to be a doctor.
The family of Hansy and Alana (sisters) are originally from Comayagua. They have few economic resources and due to this factor, their parents decided to emigrate to the United States together with their two little girls. During this trip, they suffered a lot since there were days when they could eat, but days they only had enough to eat once. Several times they slept in the streets since they could not afford to sleep in a hotel and upon seeing this suffering the parents of the girls decided that the mom would return with her little ones to the country, as they saw it was not fair that the girls continued to suffer. Once in Comayagua, mom started looking for employment to help her husband with the expenses generated in her family, which has been difficult since she cannot find a job. When she did find work, she had to leave the girls alone, exposing them to the possibility that something could happen to them. For this reason, she sought help from IMI. Hansy’s favorite color is purple, and she loves grapes.
