When he grows up, he wants to be a police officer.
Delmer lives with his parents and nine siblings, making him the seventh child in the family. They all share a small bedroom, living in cramped conditions. None of his siblings have had the chance to continue their education due to the lack of a high school in their community. The family lives in extreme poverty, as only Delmer’s father and two of his brothers are employed.
Given these challenging circumstances, Delmer’s parents have requested that he be admitted to the City of Refuge, hoping that he will have the opportunity for a brighter future than his siblings.
