When she grows up, she wants to be a doctor.
Abraham, Teresita (Emma), and Levi come from a family with very limited resources. Both parents work hard to support their children, but their income is insufficient to meet all their needs. A major challenge in their community is that the local school has only one teacher responsible for all grade levels, which compromises the quality of their education.
In Teresita’s case, she had to walk to the nearby community to attend 7th grade because there is no school offering that grade in her own community. This situation concerned her parents, as the journey is both dangerous and far from their home. Because of this, their parents have requested that all their children be admitted to the City of Refuge. They believe that the City of Refuge can provide their children with the essential support they need, including food, and both academic and spiritual education.
